Press Releases / New Course to Explore Faith Through Film

A new course which will explore faith through the medium of fillm will take place in October 2008. The weekly course will provide a unique opportunity for those who enjoy viewing and discussing movies. It invites conversation about the critical role of film in visualising the spiritual and social challenges of our time.

The course will take place in St George and St Thomas Church, Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin and will start on October 9th and continue every Thursday for 8 weeks from 7:30pm. Among the films that will be studied are Dead Man Walking (1995), the Mission (1986), Babette's Feast (1987) and Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989).

The convenors of the course are the Revd Katharine Poulton and David McDonnell, a final year theological student preparing for ordination in the Church of Ireland. Anyone interested in taking part should contact the Revd Katharine Poulton at 086 8290828 or email georges@dublin.anglican.org.
