It was announced today that the Revd Canon Charles Mullen, Dean’s Vicar of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, has been appointed to the Prebendary of Rathmichael following a meeting of the Cathedral Chapter yesterday (Monday 8 September 2008). The Revd Canon Charles Mullen

The Revd Charles Mullen was appointed to the position of Dean’s Vicar in 2000, prior to which he was Incumbent of Gorey in the diocese of Ferns from 1995-2000. Canon Mullen will continue in his role as Dean’s Vicar and a date for his installation will be announced in due course.
 
Speaking of his appointment yesterday, Canon Mullen said “Being elected canon of the National Cathedral is a special privilege for me as Dean’s Vicar. I’m very grateful to my fellow members of the Chapter for their endorsement of my service here”.
