Press Releases / Entries Sought for Diocesan Inter-Parish Hockey Tournament

It is time to dust off your hockey stick, oil your limbs(!) and get in training(!!) for this year’s Diocesan Inter-Parish Hockey tournament.

This year we're looking for as many teams as possible to tussle for the 'Archbishop's Cup', currently held by first time winners Glenageary. Also up for grabs is the 'Archbishop's Potty', awarded every year to the team that comes last (current holders, Rathfarnham).Archbishop's Cup Holders - Glenageary

The tournament will take place in St. Andrew’s College, Booterstown Avenue, Booterstown, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, on Saturday 6th June 2009, commencing at 10.30 hours.

The subscription to cover costs is €40.00 per team.

We look forward to seeing you and your team of fit and able-bodied men and women – only joking! – Fitness and ability is not a requirement for this tournament, just a sense of humour and courage!!!

Needless to say, there are some rules for the tournament to ensure that it is a FUN event, and a copy of the rules and an application form are available from either: The Rev. Anne Taylor at Rathfarnham Rectory, Rathfarnham Road, Terenure, Dublin 6W (telephone 01-4905543) or The Rev. Gillian Wharton at Booterstown Rectory, Cross Avenue, Booterstown, Blackrock, County Dublin (telephone 01-2887118).

The closing date for entries is Friday 30th May 2009.

Look forward to seeing you!
