Press Releases / Line Up for MAD 2009 Unveiled

The line up of bands for MAD 2009 in Glenealy, Wicklow was unveiled today.

MAD (Make a Difference) is a Christian Music Festival that last year attracted 2,000 teenagers and young people to the Wicklow village of Glenealy for fun, music and worship. This year’s event will take place on June 21 2009 from 2 pm to 10 pm.

The line up for MAD 2009 includesMad 2009 Logo

BEN CANTELON & SOUL SURVIVOR BAND -  Spine-tingling praise with new and favourite songs and sounds – this is something very special - not to be missed!

L Z 7  - Flying in from Manchester, this is a high-energy and explosive six piece Christian rap group, mixing rock, hip-hop and tough street beats. It’s loud and very spectacular!

THIS BEAUTIFUL REPUBLIC  - Flying in specially from Ohio, Christian band TBR places heavy emphasis on its live shows – spin kicks, guitar swings and multiple members in the air are common. They are reaping huge commercial success in the US, UK and Europe and it is a unique opportunity to see this world class Christian band live on their first visit to Ireland.

The speakers this year are JOSH & DEBS WALKER -  a dynamic young husband and wife team, Josh and Debs Walker will challenge everyone with something to really think about.

According to organisers Tim and Susan Philips, "The objective is evangelism through Christian music and whilst focussed upon the younger generations, it is very much an event for all “tribes” of all ages, from all cultures and from every part of this island. We have world class Christian music in world class surroundings! It is the Christian answer to OXYGEN and Slane Castle – brilliant music but no drink, sex or drugs!"
