Sympathy on the Death of Vivian Stratford
As a diocesan family we extend our deepest sympathies to the Revd Niall Stratford, who serves the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough in non–stipendiary ministry, on the death of his wife Vivian; and to Nicholas, Robin and Amy on the death of their mother.
Vivian Stratford (nee Gilbert), formerly of Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, died on August 18 in the tender care of the staff at the Blackrock Clinic after a long and bravely fought illness. She is very sadly missed by Niall and their children Nicholas, Robin and Amy together with Fodhla, her grandson Naoise and her special nephew Harvey. Vivian was the cherished sister of the late Jean, daughter of the late Bobby and daughter–in–law of the late Ralph. She was much loved by her mother Amy, brother Robert, sister–in–law Heather, mother–in–law Phyllis, brother–in–law Keith, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
On behalf of the dioceses, Archbishop Michael Jackson extends his sympathies Vivian’s family.
“We all wish to express our sadness to Niall, Nicholas, Robin and Amy and their wider family circle on Vivian’s death. Niall has supported ministry in Dublin and Glendalough with great generosity, serving in a number of parishes. This time is given in addition to his full time career and this was graciously and faithfully supported by Vivian as well as their children. While Vivian is now at rest, we hold her family in our thoughts in their time of grief,” he said.
