Public Lecture - Bishop of Limerick to Speak on Reconciliation in the Church of Ireland Theological Institute


Bishop to speak about work for reconciliation
 
The new series of public lectures at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute continue on Wednesday next (4 November) when the Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe, the Right Revd Trevor Williams, speaks about his work with the Hard Gospel Project and the Hard Gospel Implementation Working Group.
 
Bishop Williams is a former Leader of the Corrymeela Community (1993-2003), and had additional first-hand experience of conflict in Northern Ireland as the rector of parishes in Belfast and in Co Down. He is a former producer in religious affairs broadcasting with the BBC.The Rt Revd Trevor Williams, Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe
 
On Wednesday evening, he will speak on the topic: “If the Church has nothing to say about reconciliation, it has nothing to say” – Lessons of the Hard Gospel Project for the life, work and witness of the Church of Ireland.
 
Bishop Williams’s lecture at 8 p.m. is open to the public. The Church of Ireland Theologivcal Institute is in Braemor Park, Churchtown, Dublin, next door to Mount Carmel Hospital.
 
This series of lecturers was launched in October when Patsy McGarry, Religious Affairs Correspondent The Irish Times, spoke about his work with the media and the churches. Future lecturers in the programme include the popular author, theologian and church historian, Catherine Fox, who is a weekly columnist with the Church of England Newspaper, and the former Dean of Down, the Very Revd John Dinnen.
