ARCHBISHOP OF
DUBLIN TO ATTEND
DISCOVERY MULTICULTURAL MOTHERS DAY SERVICE
The Archbishop of Dublin, The
Most Revd Dr John Neill will visit St Maelruains
Church, Tallaght on Sunday 18 March 2007 at 3pm
to attend the Diocesan Discovery Multicultural
Mothering Sunday Service in the Church being organized
by the Diocesan Committee for the International
Community. The service is open to all, Irish Citizens
and Immigrants alike. Also to be present as 'Guest
of Honour' at the Service will be the wife of
the Archbishop, Mrs Betty Neill.
The objective of the service is
to provide a golden opportunity of fellowship
and interaction of all the peoples of the New
Ireland and will seek to encourage upholding the
core values of the traditional Christian family.
The preacher at the service will be The Revd Michael
Heaney and special prayers will be said specifically
for all ages of the family, Children, Young people
and Parents.
Following the Service, The Archbishop
of Dublin shall dedicate the new 'Diocesan Chaplaincy
Administrative Office for The International Community'
in Tallaght Parish Centre. This office will serve
as the administrative office for the newly commissioned
Diocesan Chaplain for the International Community,
The Revd Obinna Ulogwara. He will also have a
liaison Office St. George and Thomas Church, Cathal
Brugha Street, Dublin 1, where most other activities
of the chaplaincy will be taking place.
Following the service and the
dedication there will be African refreshments
in the Parish centre during which a special Mothering
Sunday cake will be cut.
