THE
REVD OLIVE HENDERSON APPOINTED RECTOR OF RATHDRUM
It
was announced today that the Revd Olive Henderson
has been appointed Rector of Rathdrum and Derralossory
with Glenealy Union of Parishes (which include
the parishes of St Saviours, Rathdrum, St
Johns Parish Church, Laragh and Glenealy
Parish Church). She has been working in Rathdrum
Union since 2001, first as a Non- Stipendiary
Minister, and since 2004 under the supervision
of the Archdeacon of Glendalough as a curate in
the parish.
Olive was educated at the Church
of Ireland Theological College and was ordained
a Deacon in 1997 and a Priest in 1998. Prior to
working in Rathdrum she served as an Auxiliary
Minister in Tallaght Parish from 1997 to 1999
and as a Priest in Charge of Moviddy Union of
Parishes in the Diocese of Cork from 1999 to 2001.
She is married to Ernest and they have seven adult
children and six grandchildren. Prior to her marriage
she worked as a Pediatric nurse.
Commenting on her appointment,
Olive said I am delighted with the appointment.
I have enjoyed being in the parish for the last
six years and have great friends there and in
the wider community, and I am greatly looking
forward to serving them as their Rector.
A date has not yet been set for
the institution.
