PRESS RELEASE

DUBLIN'S FIRST U2CHARIST ORGANISERS TO HOLD
CHRIST CHURCH CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR

3 Rock, the Dublin and Glendalough Diocesan Youth Initiative who brought about Dublin’s highly successful first “U2charist” in April this year, will be hosting their Christmas special, Essential at Christ Church Cathedral on Friday 14 December from 7.30pm-9.00pm. The event will fill the old Cathedral with over 500 people, mostly young people from the dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough.

The spectacular light and music extravaganza will include 40ft angels flying across the ancient ceilings, short films, liturgy and DJ, Roland Miller. A particular highlight this year will be the Johnny Parks band, an emerging Christian band from Belfast.

The lighting for the event will be supplied by Peter Canning of High Resolution Lighting who provided the lighting for some of Robbie Williams’ concerts.

The concert is free but pre-booking (from www.3Rock.net website) is advised.

Further information can be obtained from 3Rock (a Dublin and Glendalough youth initiative) where tickets can be purchased. A report on the U2charist is also available with photographs on the 3Rock Gallery.
