CORE Kidz Klub Nominated for AIB Better Ireland Award

Dublin's CORE (City Outreach through Renewal and Evangelism) Church has been nominated for an AIB Better Ireland award to be voted on by members of the public.

The Kidz Klub is run for children aged four to twelve years of age (divided by age into two groups) living in Dublin's inner city. Each group meets on Saturdays to take part in praise and worship songs followed by games and activities. Each session also closes in prayer. The children also receive visits from two members of the Kids Klub team outside of their regular Saturday events.

According to Paddy Heron who runs Kidz Klub for CORE the objective of the club is "to make their hour in our church the most exciting in their week!" He continued, "most of the children come from the flat complexes that surround the church. We hope that we motivate them to reach their full potential and to make healthy life choices. We have enthusiastic, caring volunteers who serve as positive role models for these young people."

He said that he was "thrilled" that the club has been nominated for an AIB better Ireland award adding, "we need people's votes to make the most of this wonderful opportunity."

CORE's Kidz Klub was nominated by AIB's Dame Street Branch. Voting can be done by text (Text DAME followed by a space, followed by a C to 51303 - standard SMS rates apply) or online (click on www.betterireland.ie , select Dame Street Branch and chose the group to vote for). The closing date for voting is Sunday 15 March 2010.
