Diocesan inter-parish hockey tournament entries sought
Entries are being sought for the Diocesan Inter-Parish Hockey tournament to take place this year in St Andrew's College, Blackrock, Co Dublin on Saturday 7 June 2008.
The lighthearted and fun competition will see mixed teams of men and women fighting it out for the Archbishop's Cup, awarded every year to the winners of the competition. The slightly less coveted "Archbishop's Potty" will be 'awarded' to the team that comes last.
Rathmichael parish will be going for their third first placed finish in a row, while Bray will be looking to pass on the Archbishop's Potty at the third time of trying.
As the competition is intended to be a fun endeavor, designed for experienced hockey players and newcomers alike, teams are only allowed one player (male or female) from the top five divisions and each team of 11 must have no less than five men and five women on the field at any one time.
Each team will play in a round-robin section. The winners of each section will contest the Winner's Final for the Archbishop's Hockey Cup, and the 'bottom' teams in each section will contest the Losers' Final for the Archbishop's Chamber Pot.
