New Canon of Christ Church Cathedral
The Reverend Aisling Shine will be installed as a Canon of Christ Church Cathedral next month.
Aisling is currently working in Drumcondra North Strand and was previously based in Clondalkin and Rathcoole parish. She was deaconed in 2003 and ordained to the priesthood in 2004.
A native of Clontarf, Aisling has a nursing background having trained at the Mater Hospital and later qualified as a midwife at the Rotunda Hospital. She is married to Ted, an army officer, with whom she has two grown-up daughters, Emer and Deirdre.
Aisling and her family also have a strong commitment to Concern - a charity she worked with in Rwanda.
Regarding her new appointent, Aisling stated that she was "looking forward to meeting the people who work and worship in Christ Church and being part of that work and worship myself."
The installation will take place at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday, 19th September at 3.30pm.
