Sit Out at St Ann's for Pakistan Flood Victims

On Friday and Saturday, 13th and 14th August, there will be a SIT-OUT outside Dublin's St Ann's Church Dawson Street  in aid of victims of the Pakistan floods. The Revd  Victor Fitzpatrick, curate of St Ann's, and parishioners will take part in the SIT-OUT from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm both days.

St. Ann's Church has an established tradition of annual pre-Christmas SIT-OUTS. Since they began in 2002 approximately 200,000Euros have been raised for St Vincent de Paul, The Bishops' Appeal for third world aid and development, and   local charities. Special SIT-OUTS have also been held  to raise money for overseas tragedies such as  last January's  Haitian  earthquake and the Asian Tsunami in 2004.

The Revd Victor Fitzpatrick commented, "We've all been very moved by the awful pictures on our TV screens and the terrible devastation and loss of life so we thought we'd do something to help."
