Appointment of Diocesan Secretary
The Honorary Secretaries have great pleasure in confirming the appointment of Mrs Sylvia Heggie as Diocesan Secretary. She will take up her post immediately.
Originally from Castlebar, Sylvia has a background in the civil service and the insurance sector. She has assisted in the diocesan office for the last number of years.
Sylvia is married to Brian with three adult daughters. The family are members of Whitechurch parish.
Speaking of her new position, Sylvia said she was "pleased and delighted to accept the appointment" and was very much looking forward to the job.
The Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough stated, "The appointment of Sylvia Heggie as Diocesan Secretary in Dublin and Glendalough will provide a sound administrative core to the working of the diocese. Sylvia is experienced and respected already and I greatly look forward to working with her in the life of the dioceses."
