Dialogue and Evangelism on Inter Faith Agenda

Questions of dialogue and evangelism will be discussed at a half–day seminar on Inter Faith issues to be held in Edgehill College, Belfast, on Friday 2 March. The conference, entitled “Engaging Diversity, Staying Faithful” is being organised by the Inter Faith Working Group of the Church of Ireland.

Speakers on the day will include the Rev Canon Dr Alan Race (former Dean of Postgraduate Studies at St Philip’s Centre for Study and Engagement in a Multifaith World, Leicester), Mr. Iain Stewart (Interfaith Development Worker with the Church of Scotland) and members of the Northern Ireland Inter–Faith Forum. The seminar will begin with lunch at 1.00pm and finish at 6.00pm.

The Secretary of the Inter Faith Working Group, the Revd Darren McCallig, said, “Many Christians feel torn between wanting to engage constructively with those of other faiths while also remaining faithful to their own convictions. This half–day seminar will provide a space to address some of the theological, pastoral and practical implications of inter faith dialogue.”

The cost of the conference (including lunch and tea/coffee) is £20 or €25. Students may attend free of charge. The fee can be paid by cash or cheque on the day but those wishing to attend should register in advance with the Revd Darren McCallig by email mccalld@tcd.ie or by telephone (+3531) 896 1402.
