Dublin Camino Gets Underway on Saturday

Archbishop Michael Jackson and Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will officially launch the Dublin “Camino” Pilgrim Walk on Saturday morning, June 2, at 11am in St Ann’s Church on Dawson Street.

The Pilgrim Walk, which involves visiting and praying in seven city centre churches, begins on Saturday following an ecumenical service in St Ann’s Church in Dawson Street at which Archbishop Jackson will preside, joined by Archbishop Martin, Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, Ray Field and members of the Dublin Diocesan Eucharistic Congress Preparatory Committee. Following the service the Archbishops will walk part of the route of the Camino.

The Pilgrim Walk is the first of its kind in the capital and is being organised by the Dublin Diocesan Eucharistic Congress Preparatory Committee as part of celebrations for the upcoming International Eucharistic Congress.

The walk runs until Saturday 16th June. During this time Pilgrims will walk and visit seven designated churches in Dublin, including St Ann’s. All pilgrims will be issued with a “Pilgrim Passport” that will be stamped in each of the seven churches. The walk concludes at St Mary’s Pro–Cathedral, Marlborough Street where pilgrims will receive a Pilgrimage Certificate of completion.
