The Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin, and Mr Samuel Harper, Lay Honorary Secretary of the General Synod of the Church of Ireland, will make a submission to the Joint Committee on Health and Children on Thursday morning, 10 January.

The Joint Committee is holding three days of public hearings on the implementation of the Government decision following the publication of the Expert Group Report into matters relating to AB & C v. Ireland.

The hearings started today (Tuesday 8 January) in the Seanad Chamber. The first day was devoted to medical advice, the second to legal advice and the third to moral advice.

The Church of Ireland was invited to address the Oireachtas committee and Archbishop Jackson and Mr Harper will make their presentation alongside members of other Church denominations.

A transcript of the presentation will be available online following the hearing.
