Eco Congregation Ireland Urges Churches to Get Involved in Creation Time 2013

Eco Congregation Ireland is reminding everyone that Christians around the world will again be joining together from September 1 to October 4 to celebrate Creation Time. This year’s theme is ‘Water Justice’, corresponding with the United Nations’ International Year of Water Cooperation.

Resources are available on the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland website – http://www.ctbi.org.uk/.

Eco Congregation suggests that anyone interested in helping their church to become more eco–friendly but who isn’t sure where to start, could start by celebrating Creation Time on at least one Sunday. Also, ECI suggests including one prayer for the environment in services throughout the year. Another good starting point is to go through ECI’s church check–list, which can be found in the first section of their Resources.

Helpful resources can also be found on the A Rocha website (http://www.arocha.org/int-en/index.html), the European Christian Environmental Network website (http://www.ecen.org/) and the World Council of Churches website (http://www.oikoumene.org/en/what-we-do/climate-change/time-for-creation/time-for-creation).
