Summer Baroque Festival in St Stephen’s Church This Weekend

A Summer Baroque Festival is taking place in St Stephen’s ‘Pepper Canister’ Church in Dublin this weekend. The four night festival began this evening and continues until Sunday afternoon. It is presented by the National Chamber Choir of Ireland and Theatre of Voices from Denmark, conducted by Paul Hiller, the artistic director of both.

The festival got underway this evening with a concert entitled ‘A Summer Baroque’. The programme continues tomorrow, Friday July 12, with Leçons de Ténèbres at 9.00 pm. Saturday’s concert is ‘Musica Sacra from Italy’ starting at 8.00 pm. On Sunday afternoon a performance entitled ‘Dido & Aeneas’ will begin at 2.30 pm. 

  • Tickets are available directly from the Pepper Canister Church once the National Concert Hall Call Centre closes at 6.00 pm. Tickets can be collected or purchased (for cash) at the venue, 30 minutes before each stated concert performance start time.
