Children’s and Youth Worker (Part–Time; 1 Year Contract)

Athy Union of Parishes seek to employ a suitably experienced person with a heart for children and young people, to teach and encouraging them in their relationship with Jesus.
Details of Role:
- To lead our existing parish youth group with the assistance of parish leaders, including bible teaching and development of the older young people as leaders and outings / trips.
- Oversee the preparation of young people for confirmation.
- Take National School Assemblies.
- Lead worship at Messy Church and assist on the Team.
- Attend Toddler Group, and assist with bible story and prayers.
- Participate in Sunday Club as a leader.
- Teach bible syllabus at BB and GFS.
- Involvement in Parish Holiday Club Training Weekend.
Details of Employment: Hours of Work: Average of 20 hours per week, including preparation. Most of the contact time is Friday and Sunday, with some evenings during the week. This role might suit someone wanting to study part–time.
Remuneration: A suitable package to include accommodation in Athy will be offered to the right candidate. (Direct receipted expenses will be reimbursed).
Duration: Position is from the end of August 2013 to June 2014 (a probationary period will apply).
The successful candidate will be required to complete Garda Vetting prior to taking up appointment.
