St Doulagh’s Festival of Flowers Celebrates Centuries of Worship

St Doulagh’s will celebrate centuries of worship at the ancient yet vibrant church on the Malahide Road at Balgriffin with a Festival of Flowers at the beginning of October. Fresh from the recent World Flower Festival which took place in the RDS in June, some of the best floral arrangers in Ireland will be displaying their skills in St Doulagh’s from Saturday October 11 to Monday October 13.

The theme for the festival is “Lord for the Years, We Give Our Thanks Today” and the parish is preparing to welcome people from all over Ireland during the weekend.

St Doulagh’s Church spans over 1,600 years of history. Worship took place even before the Vikings settled in what is now Dublin. It is the oldest stone roofed church in Ireland still in continuous use as a centre of Christian Worship.

The opening times for the weekend are as follows:

Sunday October 12 – 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

Monday October 13 – 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

There is an invitation to all interested schools to visit on Monday October 13 and advanced booking is required. Phone. 087–6711547.
