’Christmas 1914’ Flower Festival and Exhibition in Christ Church Bray

To mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War One, Christ Church Bray is holding a ‘Christmas 1914’ Remembrance Flower Festival and Exhibition. The event will run from Friday November 7 to Tuesday November 11 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm daily.

With the names of the 168 boys and men from Bray who died during WW1 remembered in a very poignant way, the Exhibition also tells the remarkable true story of how a German soldier singing ‘Silent Night’ across the trenches on Christmas Eve brought a strange peace and even a football match into a situation of absolute horror.

There will be a ‘Christmas 1914’ concert on Friday evening, November 7, at 8.00 pm with Bray Concert Band. This concert will include story telling, poems and music of the time in the extraordinary setting of floral and historic exhibits.

Admission is €10 per adult, children are free.
