Bicentenary of St Columba’s Church, Swords

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the bicentenary of the consecration of St Columba’s Church, Swords, on Saturday 9th June (St Columba’s Day) at 3.00pm.

The celebrant at the service will The Most Rev Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough, Primate of Ireland and Metropolitan, and the preacher will be The Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh, Primate of All Ireland and Metropolitan.

The service will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall (across the road from the church), at which the Archbishop of Dublin will launch a booklet entitled “St Columba’s 1818 – 2018 A Parish History” by Brian Scott, a parishioner of Donabate and a local historian.
