Teachers to be Awarded Religious Education Certificates
Ten participants attended a weekly course in DCU All Hallows in April and May to study for the Religious Education Certificate (Follow Me). Six teachers from Greenlanes NS, Whitechurch NS, Kildare Place School and Old Borough NS joined teachers from Gorey and Portlaoise as participants this year.
These teachers travelled to DCU after a day’s work in the classroom and it was great to have their participation and classroom wisdom as they covered the Follow Me programme as well as topics such as RE in infant classes, the ethos of a Church of Ireland school and how to handle big questions in RE. The course was offered by the General Synod Board of Education and delivered by Jacqui Wilkinson (Church of Ireland Centre, DCU).
