23rd May
GDPR Seminar for D&G Parishes
Thursday May 23 in Taney Parish Centre
On May 25 last yer The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into effect and placed responsibilities upon how organisations manage personal data. These regulations also apply to the Church of Ireland and places requirements upon Dioceses and Parishes to ensure that they are compliant with GDPR in how they store and process personal data.
Rebekah Fozzard is the Church of Ireland’s Data Protection Officer and has produced a number of very useful guidance documents to assist parishes and dioceses with the implementation of GDPR. Rebekah has produced a Parish handbook which is a really useful guide for parishes and these will be available at the forthcoming roadshow which has been planned for the diocese.
Rebekah has kindly offered a seminar dates where she will facilitate a question and answer session as well as giving practical advice and guidance on data protection issues. She has also agreed to make herself available for ‘one to one’ sessions for any parishes who have a particular issue or difficulty that they would like to discuss with her directly.
