Death of Freddie McKeown, Dean’s Verger at Christ Church Cathedral
We were deeply saddened to hear of the death yesterday evening (July 2) of Freddie McKeown. Freddie has been Dean’s Verger at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, for almost three decades and was woven into the fabric of cathedral life.
A consummate professional during cathedral services he carried out his ministry with dignity. He loved the cathedral and was always a smiling friendly face around the building.
We extend our sympathy to Freddie’s family and friends and to the cathedral community.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Reception Service on Sunday July 7 at 6pm in All Saint’s Church, Grangegorman. Funeral Service with Eucharist on Monday July 8 at 11am in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, afterwards to Deans Grange Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society.
