Church Music Dublin Psalms Online Project

Church Music Dublin has commenced an ambitious project to put the Psalms for each Sunday of the liturgical year online, with an accompanying chant.

The move follows the very successful seminar, led by Ian Keatley, at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin in March 2019, which alerted CMD to the continuing interest in Anglican chant. An outcome of the seminar was that the organisation became conscious that choirs and congregations in parish churches would value assistance with psalm singing.

Permissions were sought from the Archbishops’ Council of the Church of England and the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and the project began.

Chants chosen (transposed to a lower key where necessary) will repeat frequently, in order to assist them to be committed to memory.  Pointing follows that found in the Book of Common Prayer 2004 and every psalm sheet will be printable in A4 size.

“We hope this project will not only assist parish churches but will become an archive of Anglican chant for reference by Christians in other traditions,” Church Music Dublin says.
