Vacancy – Graduate Intern (Paid) – Representative Church Body

The Representative Church Body (RCB) has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Intern to join our team on a one–year fixed term contract. Working across a variety of departments, the person appointed will gain a unique understanding of the workings of one of the largest and longest–established charities on the island of Ireland.

The RCB provides support and advice to the Church of Ireland on both sides of the border across a range of issues including finance, legal, investment, safeguarding, education and communications. It also carries out some highly specialised functions, such as organising the annual General Synod of the Church.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

– Undertaking research, including drafting of research documents, reports and articles;

– Assisting various departments with research, policy analysis and preparation of material to support the work of committees;

– Organising events, such as book launches, conferences and meetings;

– Assisting with the preparation of material for uploading to the Church of Ireland website and social media;

– Assisting various committees within the RCB, including provision of administrative services;

– General office duties, including archiving, filing, photocopying, dispatch of church materials etc.

Person Specification

– A 3rd level qualification (NVQ Level 7 equivalent or above);

– Strong organisational and interpersonal skills;

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;

– Flexibility to work on a variety of activities across a range of departments;

– Familiarity with standard computer packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Terms and Conditions

– One–year fixed term contract;

– Competitive salary;

– Based in Rathmines, Dublin, but some travel may be required in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
