Christ Church Candlelit Film Series – Connections

A new film series takes place in Christ Church Cathedral on Monday evenings during November. Beginning on Monday November 4, the screenings are held in the music room at 6.30pm and all are most welcome to attend.

This is the seventh candlelit film series the cathedral has run, and this month will address the topic of connections. The first film on Monday 4 November is the classic ‘Brief Encounter’ (1945) which will be introduced by psychotherapist and Irish Times columnist, Trish Murphy. The following Monday, Baraka (1992), a wordless meditation on the environment and religion will be introduced by the Revd Andrew Orr, chairman of Eco–Congregation Ireland. The film ‘Happy’ (2011) explores our concept of happiness throughout the world and will be introduced by Deirdre McGrath of the Dublin Wellness Centre. The final film, The Hundred–Foot Journey (2014), a tale of clashing culinary cultures will be introduced by the dean, the Very Revd Dermot Dunne.

The films take place on Monday evenings in the cathedral music room at 6.30pm. There is no booking required and admission is free.
