The House of Bishops, at its meeting in Dublin today (Wednesday November 20) confirmed the appointment of the Ven David McClay, Archdeacon of Down, as Bishop–designate of the United Dioceses of Down and Dromore. His consecration is planned for late in January at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.

Archdeacon David McClay was elected Bishop of Down and Dromore by the Episcopal Electoral College on Monday November 4. He succeeds Bishop Harold Miller who retired in September.
