As the country is in Level 5 of the Government’s Living With Covid plan, churches in Dublin & Glendalough are closed for public worship. However, worship continues and many parishes in the United Dioceses continue to offer Sunday and weekday services online.

This Sunday, November 8, a Service of Remembrance will be broadcast on RTE 1 television and RTE radio 1 Extra at 11am, led by the National Bible Society of Ireland.

Contributors include Gillian Kingston, former Lay Leader of the Methodist Church in Ireland and President of the National Bible Society of Ireland; Fr Kieran O’Mahony, Augustinian Friar and Biblical Scholar, Board member of the National Bible Society of Ireland; the Revd Dr William Olhausen, National Bible Society of Ireland and Rector of St Matthias, Killiney–Ballybrack; Nick Park, Pastor of Solid Rock Church, Drogheda and Director of Evangelical Alliance Ireland; Dr Julie McKinley, Development Officer for the National Bible Society of Ireland and Cameron McKinley.

Dr Paul Manook will read the Gospel in Western Armenian and English and give a short interview on his family’s story, with Gillian Kingston.

Music will be provided by Philip McKinley (piano and vocals) and Sophia Wisdom (harp and vocals).

There will be a special Service for Remembrance Sunday held online on Zoom for Trinity College Chapel on Sunday morning at 10.45am, followed by a short memorial where the Provost and others will lay wreaths at the Hall of Honour. Meanwhile, an Act of Remembrance will be held in the Church of St Teresa, Donore Avenue, on Remembrance Sunday 8 November 2020 at 11.45am, by kind invitation of the PP Fr David Corrigan, who will take part with the Rector, Canon Mark Gardner, of St Catherine & St James, Donore Avenue. The 35th Dublin Donore Avenue St Teresa’s Scout Group will be represented. Music will be provided by Feilimidh Nunan. The ceremony will be broadcast to the public by webcam on the website of St Teresa’s.
