Online Worship, Archbishop’s Reflection and RTE Broadcast – Worshiping from Home this Weekend

Many churches are now back open for public worship with restrictions in place for public safety (check locally for details). With limits on numbers and some understandably nervous of attending, many parishes are continuing to offer worship online. If you are looking for a church service to join online this weekend there is a full directory below. Some services are livestreamed and some are pre–recorded. Most are available to watch at any time.

‘Patience’ – a reflection for the Second Sunday in Advent

Archbishop Michael Jackson continues his video reflections for Advent this Sunday (December 6). On the Second Sunday of Advent, his theme is ‘Patience’ based on the reading from 2 Peter 3: 8–15a. This passage is read by Stella Obe, a Diocesan Reader from Castleknock.

The video will be available to watch on this website or on the Dublin & Glendalough YouTube Channel here on Sunday morning as well as on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Walk of Light on RTE

The RTE News Channel will show the Walk of Light this Sunday at 2.15pm. The Dublin Council of Churches brings together Christians of many denominations in a shared exploration of Advent, as they walk with lanterns between the churches of their respective denominations, mining the scriptures and offering prayers for hope in dark times. A number of local Christian denominations are represented and Archbishop Jackson and Ruth Gyves of Holy Trinity Rathmines represent the Church of Ireland. You can find the RTE News Channel on: Saorview Channel 21, Sky #521, Virgin #200, Eir #517.
