#Rewind2020 – Gatherings in Lord Mayor’s Garden to Celebrate Missed Festivals

A series of interfaith gatherings marking religious festivals missed during 2020 has been taking place in the Lord Mayor of Dublin’s Garden from December 8 to 14. Rewind 2020 was organised by Dublin City Interfaith Forum and was streamed online each day.

Faith communities taking part included Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews, Hindus, Baha’i’s and Muslims. The series concluded today with the Christian gathering which was attended by representatives of the Indian Orthodox, Romanian Orthodox, Methodist, Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic churches.

Archbishop Michael Jackson represented the Church of Ireland and the preacher was Trinity College Dublin’s Methodist Chaplain, the Revd Julian Hamilton.

On the opening day of the series Lord Mayor Hazel Chu said: “We are very conscious of this year being such a tough and challenging year for all, that one of the things shining through was community and in some cases it was community based on faith.”
