As a diocesan family we extend our deepest sympathies to the Rector of Athy Union, the Revd Conor O’Reilly on the death of his wife Mollie (Mary, nee Fitzpatrick).

Mollie, formerly of Dereen Heights, Carlow, died on February 20 2023 at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, after a long illness borne with great courage and dignity, aged 44 years.

On behalf of the dioceses, Archbishop Michael Jackson extends his sympathies to Conor and Mollie’s brother Sean, her mother–in–law Frances, brothers–in–law Ollie and Tomas, sister–in–law Eimear, nephew Sam, and her wider extended family and many friends as well as her much loved dogs Sophie and Ruthie.

“We were delighted to welcome both Conor and Mollie to the dioceses and we all wish to express our sadness to Conor and to Mollie’s family on her recent death. We wish Conor all that is best as he continues his ministry among the people of the Athy Union who have taken both Conor and Mollie to their hearts.
