Final Call for Entries – Church of Ireland Communications Competition 2025

Entries for this year’s Church of Ireland Communications Competition should be submitted by this Friday (April 11). As the closing date comes closer, we’re keen to get the word out to all magazine and newsletter editors around the Church – especially as applicants will need to request an entry form in advance and send in entries by post.
The competition is run by the Central Communications Board, which this year is inviting entries for print media in the following categories:
- Diocesan Magazine
- Parish Magazine or Newsletter
- Church of Ireland affiliated organisation Magazine or Newsletter
Please obtain an entry form for the competition by emailing pressoffice@rcbcoi.org or by calling 028/048 9082 8880.
One recent copy must be sent in hard copy with a completed entry form to the Church of Ireland Press Office at either of these addresses:
- Floor 2, 18–22 Hill Street, Belfast, BT1 2LA
- Church of Ireland House, Church Avenue, Rathmines, Dublin 6, D06 CF67
Quality of presentation, strength of content and outreach potential are the standards of excellence against which entries will be judged. Awards for the competition will be kindly sponsored by Ecclesiastical Insurance.
Winners will be announced with a presentation and awards event at General Synod, which is taking place in person in Naas on Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10.
Bishop Pat Storey, who chairs the Central Communications Board, remarks: “We are very grateful for all the creativity and hard work that goes into producing magazines and newsletters around our Church throughout the year. Printed media continues to have an important role in communicating the Christian message and a whole range of news and events from church life for the record and in a tangible form for readers. The competition will also be a good opportunity to gather together examples of good design and publishing ideas which we can all learn from and share more widely.”
