Sporting Celebration in Monkstown
Parishioners of Monkstown have congratulated Scarlett Livingston and Lewis Thornton on their recent sporting triumphs.
Scarlett played in the Four Nations Basketball tournament in Cardiff and received her first cap for Ireland playing for the U17 basketball team.
Lewis played for Ireland in the Federation of International Touch – Atlantic Youth Touch Cup 2025, in the Mixed Under–20 section. The game is based on Rugby but with no tackling and no scrums. Lewis scored several tries, and the team won the silver medal in their section.
Lewis and Scarlett wore their team shirts and medals to church, much to the delight of the congregation. Their sporting achievements are a source of pride to all.
