Shine a Light Campaign – Donations Still Welcome for Diocese of Jerusalem

In the face of the ongoing and deepening human and humanitarian crises in the Diocese of Jerusalem and particularly in Gaza and the West Bank, Dublin and Glendalough continue to accept donations to our diocesan Shine a Light Campaign.
“To those who have already contributed to the Shine a Light Campaign and people who have not done so yet but would like to now, it is important to know that all contributions are still greatly welcomed by the Archbishop and Diocese of Jerusalem,” Archbishop Michael Jackson stated.
You can donate by electronic transfer to: Diocesan Funds of Dublin and Glendalough No 1 A/C Current Account, Bank of Ireland, 2 COLLEGE GREEN DUBLIN 2 IBAN: IE50 BOFI 9000 1769 3548 78, BIC: BOFIIE2D. Cheques may be sent to Diocesan Offices of Dublin and Glendalough, Church of Ireland House, Church Avenue, Rathmines, Dublin 6, D06 CF67.
“I wish to thank you in advance for your prayers for those who suffer, your concern for them as fellow human beings and your thoughtful generosity,” the Archbishop said.
The Shine a Light Campaign has already raised over €250,000 for the Anglican Diocese of Jerusalem.
The diocese owns and runs the oldest, and only Christian hospital, in Gaza – Al–Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. The courageous and resilient staff of Al–Ahli have continued to serve all who come to them in the most horrific of circumstances as the war approaches the end of its second year.
They also run a number of hospitals and clinics in the West Bank as well as the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre, a child rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities from the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem. The Diocese also works with other Christian Churches in the Region and through the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem supports Christians communities who are under severe pressure in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as in Gaza.
The United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough and the Diocese of Jerusalem began their friendship in 2014. This link was formalised in 2016. Apart from several fundraising initiatives, the people of Dublin and Glendalough continue to offer solidarity and support through prayer to their Christian brothers and sisters in the Land of the Holy One. When possible, clergy of both dioceses share joint retreats in both Dublin and Jordan, and Archbishop Jackson will attend the Diocese of Jerusalem’s Majma (Synod) in October. The Majma had to be postponed in June.
