Castleknock Christmas Tree Festival Celebrates the Greatest Gift of All

Castleknock Christmas Tree Festival Celebrates the Greatest Gift of All

St Brigid’s Church in Castleknock was transformed into a Christmas wonderland over the weekend for the parish’s first Christmas Tree Festival. More than 60 beautifully decorated trees filled the church providing a sparkling, meandering journey through the Christmas story.

The festival encouraged the hundreds of visitors to ‘rediscover the wonderful gift of Christmas. The first six trees were created by parishioners to tell the Christmas story – ‘the greatest gift of all’.

The remainder of the trees told the story of the community with trees decorated by various parish groups and the parish school along with trees from numerous organisations and businesses from the wider community and the local secondary schools and St Brigid’s GAA Club.

To add to the excitement, the annual parish Arts and Crafts Fair drew huge crowds to the parish centre.

The Rector, the Revd Colin McConaghie, paid tribute to the huge amount of work put into both events by parishioners of Castleknock and Mulhuddart with Clonsilla.

If you missed the Christmas Tree Festival in Castleknock (or if it has whet your appetite!) Crinken is hosting a festival this coming weekend.
