Diocese of Jerusalem Advent Resource Enables Prayerful Solidarity
Throughout Advent you are invited to join our partners in the Diocese of Jerusalem in prayer and solidarity. The diocese has produced its daily prayer booklet for the season of Advent 2025.
The booklet includes a verse for each day along with a prayer written by a different member of the clergy of the diocese which covers Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. It also includes a cycle of prayer for the clergy, officers, parishes and institutions of the Diocese of Jerusalem.
You can download the booklet here.
Commending the use of the Advent prayer booklet in Dublin and Glendalough, Archbishop Michael Jackson observed that the resource complements our prayer and mission initiative and facilitates prayerful solidarity with our friends in the Diocese of Jerusalem.
“Constantly the members of the Diocese of Jerusalem tell me that they appreciate our constant friendship. This shared resource enables us all to join with them in constant prayer throughout Advent and leading to Christmas,” he commented.
“Through where they live they are custodians of the story of salvation. Their custodianship makes it possible for us to go to The Desert, to Bethlehem and to Jerusalem and in this way to begin all over again the journey of hope, of faith and of love.
“Recently I was asked: What can we do for those who are sad in Advent and as we approach Christmas? My response was: Please do something with them even more than doing something for them!
“This resource makes it possible to pray in solidarity locally, nationally and internationally in conjunction with the Living Stones of the Diocese of Jerusalem,” Archbishop Jackson concluded.
